The advantages of being able to use more than one language are many. At the very least, being bilingual enables one to communicate with a greater number of people.  Learning languages also provides insight into different cultures and experiences. For students, some studies suggest that those who begin second language study early in elementary school attain higher achievement levels in ELA (English language arts).
